The Koninklijke Nederlandse Beroepsorganisatie van Accountants (The Royal Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants – NBA) is the legally appointed organisation that is charged with promoting good professional practice by its members.
The NBA helps accountants to fulfil their crucial role in society, both now and in the future. It is the public law organisation that serves the interests of society and the profession as the representative of the entire accounting profession in the Netherlands. The NBA thus forms the bridge between experienced professionals and society.
Tasks
All accountants in the Netherlands are registered in the NBA’s accountancy register. Accountants may work in public practice, with the government, as an in-house accountant and in the management of organisations. They form a broad, multiform group of more than 21,000 professionals with shared rules of conduct. Integrity, objectivity, expertise and care, confidentiality and professional conduct are essential values for every accountant.
